New Features 26th June 2009

ScotWeather proudly announces new features.  Some of you may have noticed that most of this site is now available to all users and not just our members, although one or two features still remain Member Only.

We have now also installed an application that will allow you to view images more easily in the form of Lightbox 2.  This saves constantly navigating around our site.

If you look down the right hand panels you will find Storm Tracking and NLC Forecasting features which are new.  Please take a little time to have a look.

We hope you like the additional access and features.

Chance of Snow (01/02/09)
Weather

Snow

Next Few Days

The outlook for the next few days indicates that Eastern Scotland could see some snow particularly from the 2nd Feb, however at this time it appears that the more significant snow is to be had further South in England.  It is uncertain at this time how much snow could be seen in Scotland, however, blizzards cannot be ruled out over the higher ground of Scotland.  Certainly Eastern Scotland could see some heavy snowfalls perhaps particularly in the Borders.  Siberian easterly winds will ensure temperatures will be below average with significant windchill, until later in the week when winds could turn more NW or Westerly bringing temperatures back to near average.

February Outlook

February will start with below average temperatures with the possibility of snow in some areas.  Mid months should see temperatures returning to near average.  Precipitation this month will be close to or below average with mixutres of rain, sleet and snow.  Snow mid month may be confined to higher ground with rain and sleet to lower levels. We can still expect to see some night and early morning frosts on the clearer days.
